NABB is all about making connects—connections between professionals, between academia and entrepreneurship, between industry and the community.
Our initiatives in this area include:
- Bioentrepreneurs Series: Tapping into networks of BIO professionals and in collaboration with other BIO-oriented organizations,
this ongoing forum examines the issues and provides an in-depth look at the process of becoming a bioentrepreneur from the viewpoint of those who
have done so successfully.
- Markets and Opportunities in Minority Health (MOPPS): The MOPPS program is a grassroots series to identify National Institutes
of Health Postdoctoral fellows for cross-training in translational research. NABB develops strategies for increasing the number of qualified black
scientists in the health professions through public/private partnerships, culminating in the development of educational forums to connect minority
scientific and healthcare professionals with research leaders in biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to fertilize ‘bench to bedside’ development
of products relevant to minority health.
- The NABB e-Journal: Designed to spotlight minority professionals working in various capacities in Bio and highlight career
options and possibilities in Bio, the NAB e-Journal also highlights the latest therapeutic and technological advances in biomedical research, biotechnology
and pharmaceutical sciences with a particular focus on advances that will have an impact on diseases that disproportionately affect minority populations. Click
