Chad Womack, Ph.D.
President & Executive Director

Dr. Womack is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Howard University College of Medicine.  Dr. Womack is also co-founder, President and Chief Scientific Officer of NanoVec, LLC—an early stage biotech company that is developing nanotechnology based solutions for next generation vaccines and immunotherapeutics against biodefense, infectious diseases and cancer.

Dr. Womack is a graduate of Morehouse College (B.S.) and Morehouse School of Medicine (Ph.D.).  Prior to co-founding NanoVec, Dr. Womack conducted  graduate and postgraduate research at the Harvard AIDS Institute and the Harvard School of Public Health., and subsequently completed several years of post-graduate training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the Vaccine Research Center (VRC).

In addition, Dr. Womack is on the Board of Directors for The Women’s Collective and the Black AIDS Institute, and has served as President of the NIH Black Scientists Association from 2004-2005

Gregory J. Davenport, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President & Chief Business Officer

Dr. Davenport is President and Chief Executive Officer of Dport & Associates, LLC and Chairman of the Board of Directors.  Dport & Associates is a professional management firm, headquartered in Dallas, Texas that provides value-added business solutions to various clients in the government, life sciences and biotechnology industries; non-profit organizations; and, academic institutions.

Prior to joining Dport & Associates, Dr. Davenport held the position of President, Biodefense Division, of DOR Biopharma, Inc., a publicly held biopharmaceutical company developing therapeutics and vaccines for unmet medical needs.  He also held senior management positions at Gwathmey, Inc., a research organization specializing in arthritis, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity and infectious diseases and Dynport Vaccine Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Computer Sciences Corporation, where he was responsible for technical evaluations and establishing strategic relationships and collaborations.  Dr. Davenport has over 14 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and serves on the board of several companies and nonprofit organizations.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from Dillard University, New Orleans, Louisiana, a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Howard University, Washington D.C., and performed postdoctoral studies at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD and George Washington University Medical Center, Washington, D.C., where he worked on a number of targets, including sickle cell anemia, leukemia, and breast cancer.

Patrice Yarbough, Ph.D.
Secretary

Patrice O. Yarbough has been successfully managing and directing research and development programs for over a decade and remains committed to the advancement of science and technology. She earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Houston in 1985 where she was a National Science Foundation Minority Fellow. At the University of Houston she was elected to Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society where she maintains an active membership today. She completed a National Institute of Health Post-Doctoral fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Dr. Yarbough is currently employed at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. As Director of Partnership Development in the office of Strategic Research Collaborations, she is responsible for promoting the growth of basic and clinical research programs by working directly with industry, government, and other university and medical institutions.

Amri Johnson, M.P.H.

Mr. Johnson is former CEO and founder of WellSolve Health Research Network a healthcare human resources solutions and training company based in Atlanta, GA.  WellSolve is the parent company of Diversity HealthWorks and Georgia HealthWorks, niche healthcare job board portals focused on diversity and the Georgia region, respectively.  Currently, Amri is serving as Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Cook Ross, Inc. an organizational development consultancy with expertise in healthcare cultural competency.

Trained as a writer/communicator and healthcare professional, Amri holds a B.A. in English from Morehouse College and a Master’s in Public Health from Rollins School of Public Health Emory University in Epidemiology.  As a healthcare manager and consultant, Mr. Johnson has over 10 years experience in health management, training, and crafting plans and building teams towards organizational success.

He has served as a consultant in multiple capacities from men’s health to strategic change in health systems, working with various private and government-based health care and research entities as well serving as a human resources consultant for start-up healthcare-related ventures. 

Amri has been featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Atlanta Business Chronicle and NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams as a leader in healthcare, human resources, and general business.
